It is not easy to push yourself but those who do reap the benefits of hard work. These two brilliant students prove that toppers have nothing handed to them, they work tirelessly to achieve their dreams and their stories inspire those around them to work hard as well.

ANJALI SHARMA

Class X Topper

How did you feel when you got the news that you are the topper of your school?

Firstly, I was shocked but after I remember the way I had studied the last two months before the exams, the effort my teachers made to help me get better and the study time which I put in my hostel, I feel that it is the result of hard work.

Tell us a little about your preparation

I never studied for 24 hours at a stretch, but I did put in 6 hours. It was mainly to revise and prepare for the next exam. Our teachers used to prepare us in the classes especially Bhupendra sir, he is a great teacher and used to ask the most difficult topics in the classes. Because of him, I used to prepare for every topic.

How was the support from family and friends?

My family was always supportive and my friends as well. During my coaching period, my mom was ill and had to undergo an operation but even then whenever she was conscious, she would enquire about my studies and my father did the same. During the hard times, Bhupendra sir, Pragya ma’am and the whole Accelerator family supported me. That was truly great!

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I want to clear the NEET exam and pursue further studies in medicine. My aim in life is to become a doctor

Advice to others who will be preparing for their examinations

Do not get stressed, remember that it’s only a preparation for a better future. No need to become a bookworm and just concentrate on what the teachers are teaching. Be sure to go home and revise. Revision is the best thing you can do when preparing for exam.

‘Give your best and leave the rest’ as Bhupendra sir says.

I am really thankful to my parents for supporting me, even when they were going through hard times, they never overlooked my well-being and my studies. I am thankful to The Accelerator for giving me an opportunity to become a part of The Accelerator family. I would like to thank my friends who were always there for me in my good and bad times. I am especially thankful to my brother for being a source of inspiration in my life.

AKASH PARIYAR

Class XII Topper

How did you feel when you got the news that you are your district topper?

I was quite surprised at first. I am also very happy that my mother is proud of my efforts.

Tell us a little about your preparation

I live by the motto that ‘a healthy mind lives in a healthy body’ which is why you need to take care of your health. I would work out for 1 to 2 hours every day to keep myself fit. In addition to that, I would also put in quality hours into studying and was very attentive in class from the beginning of the session.

How was the support from family and friends?

My friends and family did support me a lot and made sure not to disturb me when I was studying. Many times when you are preparing, it is easy to get distracted but you can avoid that when you are in an environment with no disturbance.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I want to become a civil servant and serve the nation

Advice to others who will be preparing for their examinations

I think the best advice is to think positively. There is a lot that you can achieve when you have a positive attitude. Coaching can help work on your weaknesses. It is not necessary but it does help, and for that reason, I would really like to thank The Accelerator team for giving me an opportunity to travel and learn.
